What if you feel differently?
If you would still like to hear the peaceful sound of church bells drifting across an ancient cricket ground…
If you believe that the crack of leather on willow is a sound worth keeping alive…
If you think that a wide expanse of green turf, surrounded by mature oaks and flowering chestnuts, is something worth cherishing…
If you can picture white-clad figures scattered across emerald-green grass on a summer afternoon, and feel that this is an English tradition worth preserving…
If you believe that the memory of an old wooden cricket pavilion, destroyed by enemy action in the early months of 1941, deserves more than to be forgotten…
If you believe that a cricket ground which has survived for more than 170 years deserves another innings…
It’s Your Turn to Bat — The Next Innings Needs You

After eight years without competitive cricket, Torr Park has come back to life, thanks to the determination of South Liverpool Cricket Club and the support of the local community.
But bringing cricket back was only the beginning. Now we have an opportunity to build something lasting: a welcoming village cricket ground where people of all ages can enjoy the game, share in its traditions and help secure its future.
You don’t have to be a cricketer to be part of it.
Perhaps you’d like to play, or rediscover a game you enjoyed at school. Perhaps you could help coach youngsters, umpire a match, keep score or simply come along to watch.
There are opportunities away from the boundary too — helping to maintain the ground, preparing the pavilion, making tea, organising events, raising funds or lending a hand whenever it’s needed.
Whatever your age, experience or ability, there’s a place for you. All you need is a little enthusiasm and a willingness to become involved.
